The Back is Nice

I’ve spent the last 6 years trying to be the frontman of a band that’s never made it past a pub tour.

I’ve mostly enjoyed the ride, but 2022 is the year for playing the drums on some world tours that are starting to pick up steam, or perhaps sunshine is a better energetic literal metaphor.

Plus! Drums are fucken awesome and I’ve always wanted to play them.

The beat, the pulse that holds synergy is a role that’s been suggested of me before, but I’ve always shied away from it.

I wanted to be out front,
singing my guts out,
sweating on the groupies! ;)

So here I am, working with good Witches and Wizards on projects of the scale I’d only dreamt.

With the potential to positively change the lives of billions, one person at a time, is really the only game worth playing at this point.

And so what in the way of compost, must ye’ yield to, fine sir?

To my 101 Tokens App, an app that’s found its way to 76 different countries and helps people change their drinking habits, is being put to sleep for a little while.

My head’s not in it anymore and my heart is telling me to shake up “‘toxic drinking’ culture” through the art of dialogue.

In hindsight, perhaps I could have made it a paid app, but I love the fact that all the lives that it’s changed have been done via a free app with no bleddy ads. How good is that!

Approx’ 15 thousand frothers who hit ‘GET’ on the app store and about 100k Tokens entered.

Meaning 100k times someone sat in self-reflection to become a better drinker/human.
That’s a poppin’ pub gig.

And The back is nice!

Transition better summed up by this scene in Cool Runnings when ‘Sanka’ Doug E Doug thinks he’s going to be the Jamaican Bobsled driver but ‘Irv’ John Candy has other ideas.

So this year I’m taking my egg and letting Derice run the show.

Interestingly, I put Cool Runnings and the importance of a sacred egg into a workshop I got paid for in 2021. It was a weird year indeed.
